The Queen Mary carried 16,683 troops in July 1943, setting an all-time record in the process

In stifling heat the converted superliner transported these brave men across the Atlantic Ocean. Every man aboard had to wear a life-jacket at all times, in case of a torpedo attack. Holder of the Blue Riband* the Queen Mary could outspeed any Axis warship, but she was vulnerable to potential U-boat attacks. She and the Queen Elizabeth had both been converted to troopships, and played an invaluable part to the Allies during WWII. As a side-note, the Queen Mary only had lifeboats and rafts for 8,000... But both queens proved to be lucky ships and performed their duties whilst evading the enemy throughout the war.

101 20-Minute Recipes
Just want to tell you about this article from the New York Times that features one hundred and one picnic recipes. All super quick and easy (under 20-minute of preparation time), conveniently sorted into categories such as sandwiches, salads, seafood, and so forth.
Not exactly bento, but we all know that anything picnic-suitable is usually bento-suitable too. I just took a brief glance at all the sections, and everything seem so fresh and summer-perfect.
Now go crazy. :D

Has anyone seen any vintage bodybuilding pictures - where the bodybuilder has a moustache? If so, can you please point me to it. I'm looking for very old photos.

talented
I figure I should ask the talents of yourselves this question. I am making my boyfriend a Lover's Book for our 4 year anniversary, however I want to construct the book myself. The only books I've ever made have been Japenese Stab Binding now I really want to make a book like this:

does anyone know what kind of book that is and a link to a tutorial?
or, couldyou tell me the materials i need and i'll makeshift it?
What do you use for hard covers? Chip board?
